Shaun Hopkins is a bilingual, bi-cultural educator and life-long explorer based out of Austin, Texas.  Shaun was first inspired to teach Spanish after studying in Mexico in 1998 and spending half of the following year rambling through South America, where he met his future wife. Upon his return, he completed his BA in Liberal Arts from UT Austin, with a major in Spanish language and a minor in Latin American Studies.  He regularly spends parts with his summers in his wife’s native Ecuador with their two daughters, but he hasn’t lost his love for exploring other parts of the Spanish-speaking world as well, having visited 11 of those countries along the way.  Shaun Hopkins will be in his 11th year of teaching Spanish in AISD this coming year and was recognized as Teacher of the Year at Fulmore Middle School during the 2011-2012 school year.
