Week In Review – Tulip Class May 16th-20th 2016

Hello Parents,

We hope that everyone had a nice week. Last week, we talked about North America and worked on numerous activities related to it. This week we continued to talk about North America. We have made some more new materials for the Language area. For example- Sequencing cards and cards with matching pictures. These materials help prepare children for reading and writing later. Using the Montessori philosophy, we always show children to go from left to right and from top to bottom. These cards also work using the same concepts. This week we presented sound cylinders during circle time. These materials use the auditory senses.

Sound Cylinders consist of two boxes, each with a set of six cylinders:
One set has red tops
One set has blue tops
The sounds in the red set matches their counterpart in the blue set
Each cylinder when shaken makes a different sound, ranging from loud to very soft.
Next week we have a science fair for our all five years olds. Everyone is excited and preparing for this event. We will keep practicing with the children and hope to you see you there!

Thank you so much and have a wonderful weekend.

Ms. Akansha
