Mother’s Day Out Program

Here at the Austin Children’s Academy, we understand that all mothers work. Taking care of children is a full-time, 24/7 hour job, so whether you’re a working parent or a stay-at-home mom, you deserve a few hours to yourself.

But those hours of respite can be very hard to find. Friends and family might be able to pitch in, but perhaps you need a more structured schedule. Most daycare programs favor full-time boarders, so it can be difficult to find a part-time program that doesn’t require a considerable commitment of time and money, maybe more than you need or can afford.

What you really need is a Mother’s Day Out program, designed for parents who just want a few hours, or need a few working days, all to themselves.

At Austin Children’s Academy, we’re proud to offer our own Mommy’s Day Out program. We provide a flexible schedule for kids from infancy to kindergarten age. Your child can attend for two days or three days, either full-day, from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm, or part-time, from 8:30 am to noon. We even offer extended-day, morning and afternoon options, for part-time students.

Some Austin parents use the Mom’s Day Out program to fill in part-time daycare gaps, like the many local professionals who run businesses from their homes, telecommute, freelance, or only work part-time hours. At-home parents use our Mommy’s Day Out program to carve out time to buy holiday presents without the kids around, plan birthday parties, or get some serious food shopping done without interruption. Mom’s Day Out programs also allow parents to catch their breath, finish home-improvement projects, or finally socialize with other humans above three feet tall.

Here at ACA, we know that our Mother’s Day Out program stands out from any you’ve used before. Ninety-nine percent of Mother’s Day Out programs work as temporary daycare facilities. Providers watch over the children and keep them safe and well-taken-care-of, but they do not providing much in terms of structure, schedule, or curriculum. Our Mother’s Day Out program provides the same licensed, quality care but adds an additional level of nurturing, education, and development.

As a Montessori school, Austin Children’s Academy tailors their Mom’s Day Out program using the time-tested Montessori Method of education. During your children’s stay here in the Mommy’s Day Out program, fully-trained and certified teachers will develop a specialized curriculum for your child’s specific educational and developmental needs. Our teachers will encourage your child to explore the open classroom, which is set up with child-sized furniture, including bookshelves where every hand-crafted educational toy is within reach. Through keen observation and tailored guidance, our teachers will ensure that your child is having fun and learning at the same time. We even offer a Spanish Immersion program for children from infancy to kindergarten age.

Mother’s Day Out programs are also ideal ways to ease preschool children into the idea of school before they begin a longer program or full-time kindergarten. The transition to Big Kid school becomes easier if they’ve been acclimated with the schedule, the space, and how to socialize with their peers. Socialization is an important part of early childhood development, and one of the many developmental stages that Montessori teachers track.
