Did you know that in the United States, about 63% of all families with children have two working parents, and the percentage goes up every year? Over the years, the rise in the percentage of dual-working parents has driven the rise of full-time quality day care. As a result, dual-working-parents in traditional 9-to-5 jobs often have several local options when it comes to well-established, structured, and educational daycare. One of those options for local parents is the Austin Children’s Academy. We offer a full-day program running from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm, with an extended-hours option that spans from drop-off at 7:30 am until pick-up at 6:00 pm.
But what do you do if you only need, or can afford, part-time care?
The gig economy is changing everything. More parents work several days at home to avoid long and frustrating commutes. Some parents work freelance jobs and can arrange their hours according to their other commitments. Other dual-working families stagger their hours, leaving short gaps in their daycare arrangements. Piecing together a workable schedule can become a nightmare. Full-time daycare might seem like the only viable option, but the expense can be daunting. Filling the gaps with help from friends or family can make for some sketchy time-transitions. Hiring a part-time babysitter brings its own challenges.
Furthermore, part-time daycare options are in great demand and difficult to find. Many have limited space, because a child enrolled full-time provides a steadier income. Finding a quality daycare that is more than just a play space for your children can be frustrating. In a perfect world, you’d probably prefer to find a daycare with a short-day program that offers a structure, a schedule, or some real educational curriculum.
Welcome to the Austin Children’s Academy. Here, we strive to help all families find high-quality, affordable full-time or part-time programs. Our goal is to keep your children engaged, happy, focused, and learning during their time with us, no matter how brief. ACA offers part-time options for children from infancy to kindergarten age. Our part-time care options run from 8:30 am until 12:00 pm, and you can choose your days of the week to fit with your schedule.
Most importantly, whether your child is a full-day or part-day student, attends every day of the week or only two or three days, your child will have an opportunity to work with professional Montessori-Certified and Trained teachers. Those teachers will develop a specialized curriculum tailored to the developmental needs of your individual child, from infant up to kindergarten age. We even have a Spanish language immersion program.
The Montessori Method of education focuses on child-centered learning, so your children are sure to enjoy every moment they spend playing in our wide-open schoolrooms. Every classroom is designed specifically for the age group assigned, so the tables and chairs are appropriately-sized, and all the educational toys are within his or her reach. Here, the children rule the roost in the best of ways, with the teachers as advisers and guides. The toys themselves are handcrafted and designed to encourage a joy of learning.
If your children have never attended a daycare, ACA’s part-time care option is also a gentle, encouraging way to ease your younger children into the daycare or upcoming school year experience. You can start them on the two- or three-day half-day program before transitioning them into full-time daycare when your work schedule or their school schedule requires it. It’s a great way to get the hours you need to get your work done while allowing your children to immerse themselves in a happy, orderly, encouraging educational experience.
