Throughout the month of November, Austin Children’s Academy will be showing our support for the less fortunate members of our community by accepting donations of canned and other non-perishable foods for distribution.
We believe that a sense of community is important for children to learn at an early age, instilling in them the virtues of charity, sharing, and appreciation that will follow them for the rest of their lives. We also believe that no family should ever have to go hungry, especially during the fast-approaching holiday season.
We will work together and collect a large donation to the Hill Country Community Ministries (HCCM), an organization dedicated to providing to hurting families in the southwest Williamson and northwest Travis counties. Unfortunately, donations have become more and more difficult to come by over the past few years, so we’re hoping for a large turnout from our drive to brighten the days of those in charge of HCCM and the people they distribute to.
Every donation provided helps someone in need, and there is no better way to get into the holiday spirit than by sharing what you have with struggling families.
To get the kids involved, we will reward a pizza party to whichever class has the highest average number of cans per student. We hope that you can participate in the drive and thank you in advance for your donations!
